Elkhorn Creek Cleanup

Several NRVTU members recently participated in the Elkhorn Creek Cleanup day in West Virginia. 6.44 tons of trash was removed from the stream, including about 50 tires, a toilet, an inflatable pool and a Fisher Price play structure.

82 people participated in this year’s cleanup, including 38 folks from Trout Unlimited, 22 from Walmart, and 22 others from organizations such as the Elkhorn Watershed Association, WV Citizens Conservation Corps, McDowell Solid Waste Authority, WV DEP and WV DNR Police.

Next year’s cleanup day is scheduled for April 12. Hopefully we can rally a crew from NRVTU again!
